On a cloudy day in Windhoek, a diversity of stakeholders came together at the House of Democracy to launch the exciting new publication on environmental sustainability in Namibia. The publication, Environmental Awareness for Sustainable Development: A Resource Book for Namibia is authored by Svenja Garrad, Piet Heyns, Michelle Pfaffenthaler and Gabi Schneider and is published by the Hanns Seidel Foundation and Desert Research Foundation of Namibia.
The book engagingly addresses a number of topics ranging from environmental ethics, the earth's natural environment (including geology, soils, oceans, freshwater and climate change), how we benefit from ecosystem services and how to tackle environmental management in Namibia. The book targets a variety of readers including environmental educators, students, media practitioners and tour guides.
